Black with Rectangular Bottom

I came across a rectangular sheet of relatively rigid plastic. It was just the right size to form the bottom of a bag so I used it, just as it was to reinforce the bottom of this bag. I sewed it in between two layers of black straps so the bottom is not only rectangular, which is unusual for my bags, but is also stiffer so it stands up straight.

Also, this is the first bag I have sewn since the county changed recently to black and orange rather than yellow-green straps. Since I can only use what they bring me, I now have lots of black to inspire me.

  1. I know I’m always telling you that I need a new bag each time you make a new design or new colors but this is over the top in that I really hope you make more of these with stiff bottoms and that I can beg, borrow or even steal one from you. I love it!

  2. Tad… Still would love to wow / inspire my new Kaiser peeps with your creations. Ping me and I’ll find a way to pick up when you are on or ending your shift. I miss my valley peeps!

  3. So awesome looking! Now that’s a bag I wouldn’t mind having, while the orange, green, and yellow always look very nice, I have never wanted one. The black is really, I don’t know, easier to “pull off”. As I know you always have a long list of people you give your bags to, if you need another, add me please. I need to get in on the next drawing give away hahahha.

  4. I’m enjoy seeing ALL your creative endeavors, however this one is extra special. I like the dressy or universal appeal and the strong base idea!
